Why did people expect Lebron to stay in Cleveland with all the opportunities in the offseason?

Cleveland had no other superstar (Mo Williams is not a superstar-0 All-star appearances before playing with Lebron)

If he had stayed on the Cavs he might not have been able to get through Bulls who added Boozer, the Heat who would have had Wade and Bosh, the Celtics who would have had the big 3 plus Rondo, and the Magic who would have had Nelson, Lewis, Carter, and Dwight Howard.

The Bulls and Heat were the only smart decisions if he wanted to win.Why did people expect Lebron to stay in Cleveland with all the opportunities in the offseason?
I was one of the people that expected him to stay in Cleveland. I thought so for the following reasons:

1. The Cavs were nothing before him, much like the Bulls were nothing before Jordan. I thought he wanted a legacy in his own city, as opposed to going where Jordan had already won 6 titles, or where Wade had already won 1.

2. Cleveland could give him the most money. Lebron James is a materialistic as anyone else. He just bought a $50,000,000 house that he prolly wont spend too much time in. It only made sense (in my mind) that he stay where he could get the max deal

His move to Miami shows me a different side of Lebron. A side that I kinda saw was there but wasnt aware it ran that deep in him. Analyzing this move, I see that he's driven by money more than being great. Heres why:

Florida has no state income taxes. He nets the same money he would have gotten in Cleveland because of less taxes. He has a greater chance of making EVEN MORE money because now he has a team that, as he put it, "can win multiple championships." So less taxes, more revenue from more playoff games, (with everyone of them being a sell-out) sale of championship apparel like t-shirts, hats, ect...the money factor increases exponentially.

His legacy is obviously out the window. He'll no longer be "the second coming of Jordan" because now hes playing with 2 Top 10 NBA talents.

So Lebron sold his legacy for millions; perhaps a billion as his ambiiton would have him reach...

Money means more to Lebron than anything else. Oh well, he's on my team now!!
A lot of people expected him to leave.

The problem isn't entirely that he left. The problem is that he was a giant douche about it.Why did people expect Lebron to stay in Cleveland with all the opportunities in the offseason?
money talks
shut up its over he made a stupid choice ok he should of went to the bulls thats my opinion
