for years ive associated 100 points to free chalupas. i always thought it was a league wide promotion. but i just read that it was only portland and cleveland. is that true? are there any other promotions other teams do?Are Cleveland and Portland the only teams that have the 100 point giveaway?
No. I think every team does this promotion, or something like it, at some point. Here's a funny story: last year, I was at a Mavs game and there was an announcement at the start of the game that everyone would get a free taco (or something like that) if either the Mavs scored 100+ points, or if they held their opponent to under 70 points. Final score? 99-71.
I was so pissed. The other team hit a shot in like the last 20 seconds.
It's a fairly common promotion around the NBA. Teams offer different items for different point totals, usually depending on which corporate sponser they can hook up with. I got a free pizza (a really small one) a few years ago when the Mavs broke 115 points. It was funny, because the Mavs were up by 12 with just a few seconds left, but they called a timeout to set up a play so that they'd score 115 and get everyone a pizza. The opposing coach was not amused. Are Cleveland and Portland the only teams that have the 100 point giveaway?
You know how many tacos I could have with Golden State?
The Warriors promotions are usually just cheap tickets.
The Lakers give out free Taco Bell tacos if the Lakers hold there opponents too under 100 pts.
