I going to Cleveland in October and I'm planning to wear my Kobe Bryant jersey and my LA Dodger hat while touring downtown, but after hearing about the city's fallout with Lebron on ESPN, I was wondering about the city's mood towards NBA basketball (or black people) in general. Is it safe to wear a Laker jersey in Cleveland?
You can wear whatever you'd like. You may not get too friendly responses if you were to wear a Steelers t-shirt or a Lebron jersey. And when I say not friendly responses someone may ask you why you're wearing it. But no one will be mean or violent towards you. I don't know what you're talking about when you say or black people for majority of the city is black.
Let me just tell you this the City of Cleveland (sports fans of the city and surrounding suburbs) is a very loyal city towards it teams and their players. They begged Lebron to stay and instead of giving the Cavs and their fans a heads up he made everyone wait. The whole show was in poor taste. The City of Cleveland (sports fans of the city and surrounding suburbs ) still does and will always love their major league teams. I hope you enjoy your visit.
If you were wearing a Heat Jersey it would be a different story. Eh, Lakers gear is OK. But don't overdo it or you will look like a loser. Is it safe to wear a Laker jersey in Cleveland?
Not if it's cold. You might want to wear a jacket also.
